How To Celebrate Small Wins For Moms Who Crave Me Time

Some days are harder than others. Something must have been in the air recently, because all three of my kids were having a tough day – crying, whining, not wanting to eat their dinner. Basically anything they could do to annoy me.  I had to keep reminding myself, “It’s almost bedtime and then you can relax.”

Crave me time

And then they were finally in bed! I poured a glass of Butter Chardonnay to help with the relaxation and then went to stare at them while they slept.

They look even smaller and younger and more like babies when they’re sleeping (and my girls are 3 and 5, they’re KIDS already). But when they are asleep, they look like babies again.

Then one of my girls muttered in her sleep and rolled over and I froze! Watching kids sleep is a dangerous game…they could wake up any minute and see you and then there goes another half an hour trying to get them back to sleep. I turned and quietly ran out the door.

I take “me time” whenever I can grab it. And with having small children, the best time for “me time” is before they wake up and after they go to bed.

They’re both different, but celebrating “me time” after the kids go to bed has a sense of satisfaction and accomplishment that the morning just doesn’t.

One way I celebrate my tiny bit of “me time” after the kids go to bed is having a small glass of Butter Chardonnay.

Butter Chardonnay is an easy to love, everyday wine, and best Chardonnay under $20. It is smooth and buttery and tastes amazing. It’s the perfect way to end a tough day of #mommin’.

JaM Cellars makes three easy-to-love, everyday California wines – Butter Chardonnay, JaM Cabernet and Toast Sparkling. What I love about about JaM Cellars is their motto:

“We take our wines seriously; we just don’t take ourselves seriously!” – JaM Cellars

Just the other day, I was at the store and a lady was behind me in line buying a bottle of Butter. I had to smile, because I could definitely see why. I wanted to say something, but she was busy telling her friend why she loves Butter.

Even at night after the kids go to bed, I have about an hour of me time before I crash out of sheer exhaustion. That’s why I think you should celebrate the small wins – hey, I got AN HOUR all to myself. That time is golden!

As moms, we spend our days caring for others and very little time caring for ourselves.

Don’t wait for your husband and kids to get you flowers or a card for Mother’s Day. Celebrate all the small things you can…they add up. Savor even the hour of “me time” you get after the kids fall asleep.

Some days it’s hard to remember that this time is short lived. Pretty soon your kids will be grown up and you won’t remember all the small things that used to stress you out when they were younger.
