When I learned the SMART way to cook bacon – I haven’t looked back since!

This Is How Really Smart Moms Cook Bacon

This is an easy, practical tip that will change the way you cook bacon forever. I learned this technique about ten years ago.

Growing up, my family cooked bacon on the stovetop in a skillet. It took a long time, it was messy and you had to stay at the stove and keep turning the bacon until it was done.

Not to mention popping grease that burned your hands and stained your clothes. Yuck!

Try this way to cook bacon. You will never look back.

The Easy Way To Cook Bacon

Take a baking sheet and wrap it with foil. Try to wrap the foil all the way over each side to make clean up easier. Lay the bacon in strips on the baking sheet, without layering them on top of each other. Bake at 350 degrees until it reaches the level of crispiness you like. I don’t even bother to preheat the oven when I cook bacon.

It usually takes about 15 minutes for medium crispiness. Just keep checking and turn the bacon at least once with a pair of tongs.

Clean up is so easy!

Take the bacon off and lay it on a paper towel lined plate to drain the grease. Wait for the bacon grease to cool and solidify on the baking sheet. Once it is mostly solid, just peel off the foil, wrap it in a little package and throw it away. The baking sheet may be a little greasy, but clean up could not be easier.

  1. I do this with two or three packages if bacon at a time. Then I freeze the baked bacon in a large freezer bag or two. Instabt crisp bacon whenever you want. Just pop it frozen into the microwave for 30-45 seconds and hot bacon!
