It’s Fall! And as a fun fall activity for your preschooler, I’ve created a printable pumpkin faces matching game.
Printable Pumpkin Faces Matching Game
Matching games are great for preschoolers because they learn important memory skills. But my kids always lose the pieces to the memory games we have owned. That is why I love printable matching games, because you can use them for a time or two and then recycle them when you’re done.
Preschoolers are also learning what facial expressions mean too. As you are playing the memory game, you can also discuss the pumpkins facial expressions in the pictures.
Pumpkin Faces in the matching game:
- Big smile
As you turn over the pieces, ask your preschooler what each expression means. What do they think each pumpkin is feeling?
How to Play:
Step 1 – Print out the matching game by clicking on this link and downloading the file to your computer. Print it out in color on your local printer.
Step 2 – Cut out the pieces along the dotted lines. You can even use this as a scissor practice opportunity with your preschooler, or cut out the pieces for them.
Step 3 – Turn all the pieces over on a flat service, so you can’t see the faces.
Step 4 – Turn over one piece to reveal a face. Turn over a second piece to try to find it’s match.
Step 5 – Take turns until all the faces have been matched.
Instructions to download:
Enter your name and email address below. You will be directed to the Practical Printables page where you can download and print all of the printables from Practical Mommy. Note: you will be added to a mailing list. Feel free to unsubscribe at any time (although I hope you’ll stick around).
If you like printables, then you probably go through a lot of ink. I just found a great “hack” for you then. HP started something called Instant Ink which lets you subscribe to an ink service. Instead of running out of ink at the worst moment, or spending a small fortune on all the ink cartridges – now you can get in sent directly to you for a very small fee every month. It starts at $2.99 a month (that’s the plan I’m on). You can learn more on their website.
I also created a Valentine’s day free printable matching game you might like.
