Personally, I love giving subscription gifts because it’s like they get a new gift from you every month. It’s not a one-and-done, completely forgotten gift. It’s usually something they would really like, but maybe wouldn’t normally think of buying for themselves. This is the best kind of gift in my eyes.
There are a couple different kinds of subscriptions I’m covering in this list:
- Magazines
- Subscription Boxes
- Recurring shipments
- One time shipments
Wait, why would I include one time shipments? Simply because it’s the kind of thing that you can do over and over again, but it’s technically a one-time shipment.
Subscription Gifts
Amazon Prime
This is an amazing gift because there are so many great extras with Amazon Prime. It’s not just free 2-day shipping (although that is a great savings), you can also:
- Read Kindle e-books for free
- Stream songs and playlists
- Watch TV shows and movies with Prime Video
AND you don’t have give a full year, you can give a 3 month membership. The cost is totally giftable.
Amazon will send your gift recipient an email on the day you choose along with redemption instructions. The gift recipient can start their Prime membership right away. If the recipient is already a Prime member, the gift can be exchanged for an Amazon.com Gift Card. The gift membership does not automatically renew too.
Give the gift of Amazon Prime.
MakersKit
Know someone who likes to make stuff? A crafty mom would really appreciate this monthly subscription box. You can sign up for a Craft Box or a smaller Craft Pouch. Projects are a surprise and will be revealed right after they ship. Your subscription includes free shipping, access to online video tutorials and tips.
Magazines
I use Magazineline.com whenever I can for magazine subscriptions. The costs are really affordable and the bonus is that my subscription info is all in one place. I was constantly forgetting where to make changes or renew subscriptions when I would sign up one by one. Also, if you use Ebates, there is usually a hefty cash back amount (as I’m writing this, it’s 17.5%).
Draft magazine is on of my husband’s favorite magazines about beer.

Julep
Julep is a nail polish and beauty supplies subscription box.
It’s good to be a Julep Maven. Our Mavens (beauty box subscribers) get first access to new collections each month in the Julep beauty box. We make award-winning multi-benefit beauty products, and Mavens get exactly what they want by customizing their selection each month. Plus, they get free shipping and 20% off at julep.com—always. Note: Gift subscriptions do not auto-renew.

MarkyBox
Give the gift of art for a parent and child. This would be a great family gift from a grandparent. These art projects are the real deal – they’re in depth and well thought out. I was given a MarkyBox to review and I would suggest that these boxes would be perfect for an older child (10+ years) with an adult to work with.
These are really bonding projects, since they require so much parental supervision and help. The projects are extremely high quality and designed by real artists.
SnackNation
Know someone who could ALWAYS use a snack (like me)? Then this would be the perfect gift for them. It is a monthly subscription of curated groundbreaking healthy snacks from emerging brands that you likely wouldn’t find on the shelves of a grocery store. My favorite was the little pack of Oloves – basil and garlic marinated olives. I was actually at the store today and couldn’t find them. So sad. I think I might order a bunch on Amazon – they were that good!

I love it when my family gets me StitchFix gift cards. The gift card comes in a super cute little box too. I wish I had a picture! You can read more about my love for StitchFix here.
