Conception – Fertilization Of The Egg
When the sperm meets the mature egg in the fallopian tube, fertilization takes place. Only one sperm thread out of millions manages to drill into the egg and fuse with it. Both the egg and the sperm contain 23 chromosomes, which together form a tiny egg cell. There are a total of 46 chromosomes in it, which contain the genetic material. In other words, everything your baby needs to grow together into its own individual.
Artificial Fertilization Of The Egg Cell
As in natural fertilization, the genetic material of the egg and sperm is fused into a single cell. Mature eggs are removed from the ovary and fertilized outside the body with semen. If fertilization is successful, they are inserted into the woman’s uterus.
You can buy a pregnancy test in the pharmacy, but also in the drugstore. Most women first choose this way to do the test at home before going to the doctor. A pregnancy test done at home measures the hormone level HCG in the urine. This hormone is produced by the body shortly after fertilization and is therefore the best evidence of pregnancy.
The test strip is held under the stream of urine. Depending on which test you have and what the instructions say, the strip turns color, which means you are pregnant. If the strip does not change color, the test is negative and you are not pregnant.
If you take the test on the exact day that your period is supposed to be, then the coloration of the strip may be very faint. Am I pregnant or not? If you are not sure or cannot interpret the test correctly, take another test a few days later or have the doctor do a blood test.
Without a pregnancy test, you can never really know if you are pregnant, but most women instinctively sense that a small ball of cells is growing inside of you and that they are pregnant. For most women, however, it is not until two weeks after the implantation of the egg that they do not have their period.
Nevertheless, it is possible to continue to have monthly bleeding during pregnancy. However, this is usually weaker than normal. If, despite a positive pregnancy test, you continue to have your bleeding, see a doctor.
Signs Of Pregnancy
In early pregnancy, women often do not feel any signs of pregnancy yet. Only a little later do you notice that you often have to urinate, you are very tired already in the early evening, you have a strange e.g. metallic taste in your mouth, frequent nausea occurs and you have sensitive dark nipples.
