Salt In Baby Food?
Salt has no place at all in the diet of babies under one year!!! – Even if parents think that the taste is a bit bland when trying out porridges, salt must not be added under any circumstances! It has been proven in the meantime that too much salt is not good for babies – blood pressure rises massively and this not only in the short term, but sometimes up to the age of 13 years, the after-effects of salt in baby food can be noticeable through increased blood pressure.
Spices And Herbs
Spices and mild herbs are suspected of causing allergies in babies. Many parents believe that the herbs from their own organic garden can do no harm, but nevertheless, it is not advisable in the first 12 months of life. Spices and herbs can cause irritation, have a negative effect on digestion and the sense of taste of the little rascals should be finely formed, so less is clearly more!
Cooking Porridge Yourself?
Anyone who has ever tried home-cooked baby porridge and a jar quickly realize that homemade and canned are two completely different things. Since the human sense of taste is already developed in the first months of life, parents should make sure that their little ones do not already get used to ready-made food & “baby fast food”. Children who are fed only convenience foods in the first months of life have a much harder time maintaining a healthy and balanced diet and keeping their weight.
