Mint Chocolate Hot Cocoa Gift Jar
If you’re looking for a quick and easy gift to make for friends, relatives or neighbors, you have come to the right place. Not only is this a great last minute gift, it is also budget friendly. Especially if you need a lot of small gifts to give out. These Mint Chocolate Hot Cocoa Gift Jars would be perfect!
Last year I made these Christmas neighbor gifts for the Butter Braids my daughter’s preschool sold. This year I wanted to do something warm and comforting, and hot cocoa is the perfect answer.
5 C. dry powdered milk
1 C. unsweetened cocoa powder
2 1/2 C. powder sugar
1 C. powder coffee cream, original/regular flavor
2 tsp. cornstarch to prevent sticking
Andes mint baking bits or chopped up Andes Mint Chocolates
You will also need small glass jars. Mason jars would work perfectly.
Step 1 – Combine the dry ingredients, mixing well.
Step 2 – Add about 1/4 cup of hot cocoa mix to the bottom of the each jar and allow it to settle. If you are unsure of the size of your jar, I would fill 3/4 of it with homemade cocoa mix and then fill the rest of the way with ‘extras’.
Step 3 – Add in the mint baking bits on top.
Step 4 – Tie with twine and pretty ribbon and attach a gift tag for holiday gift giving.
Each jar is about 1-2 servings when added to 8-10 oz of hot water or milk.
Love the hot chocolate idea for Christmas gifts! Would it be possible to half the recipe for smaller jars?? I have a lot of co workers and would like to do this for them but not as big. Please let me know Thank you so much ??
