Sometimes afternoons are tough after school. We get home and the kids either want to go somewhere or eat a snack. Both of which we can’t do because I need to start making dinner. Daddy isn’t home yet, so it’s basically 3 against 1 and Mommy struggles to win the battle over the snacks.
Disclosure: I received this product in exchange for my honest opinion.
But tonight was different! I had a little something that I knew my kids would love and would keep them occupied while I made dinner.
The solution? Car Tape.

Anyway, while I usually give tape and stickers a pass, there are a few times when it drives me up a wall. Those stickers that leave a sticky residue behind? That tear halfway through pulling them off the chair or the table…there’s a special place in hell for those stickers…
You can get your own roll of Car Tape from Amazon.
Luckily, that’s not something I had to deal with, with this car tape. Believe me, I tested a little bit first on our tile before I let the kids do what they wanted. I was not about to deal with sticker residue on my tile floors!

It took less than 10 minutes to build this road city for my kids. My daughters added on to it later on their own (they’re 5 and 3). We got out the little toy cars and the legos to make a bridge. We added little toy playsets to pretend people and houses along the streets.
And I got to make dinner uninterrupted!
We left the car tape on the floor for almost a week. I thought about taking it up sooner, but they kept playing with it and well, #lazymom.

I’ve never heard of car tape before, but I must say it sounds genius! Can’t wait to get my hands on one of these!
This sounds like the perfect thing for my nephew. He’s always playing with his cars, trucks, and dollhouses. It would be really cool to set it up like a real town, roads and all. Thanks for the suggestion! I just found your blog and am loving your advice and recommendations. Can’t wait to read more!
Thank you! Yes, a car tape city sounds so fun!
