What Is Braille?
For people with normal sight, reading is not a problem. You can easily read the letters in a book or newspaper in black and white. But for people who are blind, this is not possible. That’s why they need an extra font – Braille. This writing consists of many small bumpy points on the paper. This writing is also called Braille.
Reading With The Fingers
A person who can see normally, with or without glasses, reads with his eyes. A person who is blind cannot do this. However, this does not mean that they cannot read exciting books because of this. They do not read the books with their eyes, but simply with their fingers. Because of the small dots in the paper in Braille, you can feel the letters with your fingertips and read just that way. For each letter in Braille, the dots are arranged in a different way. These different dots form a separate alphabet in Braille.
Explanation Of Difficult Words:
Braille is named after its inventor, Louis Braille. He invented this script about two hundred years ago because he was blind himself. World Braille Day is celebrated every year on January 4 because this is also Louis Braille’s birthday.
