Are you planning on starting a blog soon? Maybe you have already started a blog. Congratulations! That was a big and bold move, but maybe you are struggling with how to let friends and family know that you started a blog.
Remember that everyone has their own reasons for starting up a blog. Perhaps you just want to keep up with friends and family or maybe you are looking to share your expertise on a certain subject. When it comes to starting the blog, you get to decide what you want to talk about and who your audience will be.
It’s important to know that while having a blog takes a lot of work, there are tons of rewards along the way. However, letting people know about why you’re blogging can be hard. I’ve listed some great ways to let your friends and family know that you are starting this blog.
Of course, the best way to let someone know you have a blog is to simply tell them, but that’s always easier said than done. You can’t always invite someone over for coffee to let them know what you’ve done. While there are no exact ways for each blogger to tell their friends and family, perhaps you could benefit from these ideas.
Send them an email: Sometimes it’s really cool to get an email about a new endeavor you’re on. Send out an email to friends and family letting them know you started a blog. Share the link with them and invite them to check it out.
Announce it via social media: Social media is a great way to let your friends and family know you started a blog. You can be subtle about it, or you can post all day long about it. The great thing about social media is that people can get excited and help share the excitement with others.
You can make your own meme using PicMonkey. Watch my tutorial on how to use PicMonkey.
Have a blog launch party: These days, there’s a party for everything, so why not for your blog? You can have people over for a blog viewing party. Let them know what your niche will be and how you plan on blogging on a daily/weekly basis. This is always a fun way to let your friends and family know you started a blog.
Get excited about it: If there’s one thing everyone knows about friends and family; it is that they get excited about what you’re excited about. Starting a blog is a very exciting endeavor, so make sure you share that passion with those around you! While you don’t need anything physically from them, it’s so nice to have their support.
Business cards: Another awesome way to tell others that you started a blog is with business cards. You can print out business cards super cheap! Go to VistaPrint.com and design and order business cards, or you can have someone else design them and you can print right at home. Handing out these business cards are a great way to tell others about your blogging.
Tell them in person: For those who may not appreciate all of the aforementioned ways, you may way to tell them about your new adventure in person. You want everyone to be happy for you, so make sure you tell these people face to face. You know, the ones who aren’t on social media, but that you want to keep in the loop.
Ask them to sign up for your newsletter: When you are a fresh blog, you want people to sign up for your newsletter and your friends and family are the perfect test subjects. Ask them to sign up for your newsletter and tell them to watch out for a special surprise news coming to their inbox. You can make it fun and exciting for everyone involved.
I hope some of these ideas help spark some creativity in you. Blogging can be life changing, a great stress reliever, and an important part of someone’s life. You don’t know how you’ll change your own life or the lives around you, until you really dive in.
