What is an “ette” anyway? Smurfette lives with all the boy smurfs in Smurf Village, but she is the only girl smurf. All the boy smurfs have names that describe their personality or their physical traits – but not Smurfette. Everyone begins to wonder – what exactly is an “ette”?

The new Smurfs movie is a little different than the previous movies. It’s fully animated, with no real life people.

A brief overview – One day, Smurfette sees a mysterious Smurf near the forbidden forest. Gargamel captures her and her friends and they all discover that there is a lost Smurf Village somewhere in the forbidden forest.

Gargamel and Smurfette (with a few trusty companions) race to find the new village first. When they do, they’re in for a HUGE surprise.

Through it all, Smurfette is trying to come to terms with who she really is. Is she really just a pawn built by Gargamel and only capable of doing his evil work? Or is she a Smurf with a heart of gold?

I have to tell you, the ending brought me to tears! Yes, really. It was so sad and so happy. You’ll see when you watch it yourself (no spoilers here).

This movie is all about a young girl finding out who she truly is and loving herself. This movie is a MUST SEE for families with little girls.
