2. Trimester – Second third of pregnancy

You will find this phase of pregnancy to be the most pleasant.

You and your baby will be in the second trimester from the 14th to the 26th week of pregnancy.

Why many mothers described this as the most beautiful phase?

You have gotten over the nausea from the first trimester and have already gotten used to the hormonal changes. Your belly has grown and now your pregnancy is visible to outsiders – you also feel your baby now! In addition, it is said that in this phase pregnant women are particularly radiant.

You now have time to really understand the pregnancy, you become more balanced and realize that you will soon become a mother.

What happens to me in the second trimester of pregnancy?

As just described, you I now realize that you are really pregnant. You are going to be a mother. You are having a baby!

Hormonally, your body has now adjusted to the pregnancy and you have become accustomed to it.
As your belly grows significantly, your pants and tops also become tighter. Now it’s time to unpack comfy clothes and enjoy your belly. Nothing is more annoying than pants that are too tight. Whether you buy extra maternity wear for this or simply step up to more clothes is of course dependent on the season and your taste. Everything is allowed!

Not only you perceive the pregnancy, because also your partner! The expectant dad can also be included with pleasure: Picking names, stroking the belly or talking to him.
If you had planned to travel, then the second trimester is the most ideal for this.

Keyword nesting: you will, due to the growing ball, also deal with the issue of equipment and baby clothes and nursery. Let’s go, because now they are still very mobile and fit. In the next trimester, it will be more difficult.

The development of your baby

In the second trimester, all internal organs are fully formed and only need to mature further.
From the 14th week of pregnancy, i.e. at the beginning of the second trimester, you can clearly recognize the gender.
Your baby now sucks his thumb more often and has sleep and wake phases just like you.

Towards the end of the second trimester (17th to 20th week of pregnancy), your baby can already hear what you say, see and feel. Why not sing to your baby or let him listen to music? The first hairs are now on the head.

At the end of the trimester, your baby is about the size of an eggplant and weighs about 500 grams.
