Plastic Bags Harm The Environment
Plastic bags are quite bad for the environment. More and more of these bags end up in the garbage or even in the oceans. Especially there, they pose a deadly threat to fish and other creatures. That’s why there should now be an end to all those free bags. People have calculated that every German consumes 71 of these plastic bags per year and that is unfortunately too much. The plastic bags must be manufactured and for this one needs among other things also crude oil. And as you surely know, there is no longer an unlimited supply of it in this world. That’s why we have to pay if someone absolutely wants a bag. At the moment, this is supposed to be the case for 60 out of 100 bags, but in just two years, 80 out of 100 bags will have to be paid for.
People In Germany Think It’s Good
Most people in Germany think this is good. People all over the country were asked what they thought. More than half of these people even think that there should be no more plastic bags at all and only paper bags instead. At first, you might think this is a good idea. But even for the production of paper bags, one harms nature. It takes a lot of water and a lot of energy, and often these paper bags are not free of harmful substances. Many paper bags contain chemicals and varnishes. It is best to go shopping with your backpack or a cloth bag that you can use again and again.
