Smartphones – A Danger For All Road Users
Smartphones pose a great danger in road traffic. This applies not only to drivers but also to pedestrians who are constantly looking at their smartphones. It is quite clear: when driving a car or riding a bicycle, it is forbidden to use your cell phone. But when you’re on the road as a pedestrian, you’re allowed to. But unfortunately, there are more and more accidents because of it.
Too Much Distraction On The Road
In this new study, researchers found that one in six pedestrians are only busy with their smartphones and no longer pay attention to traffic. In doing so, they simply walk on the road without looking left and right first, causing many accidents. That’s why people are advised to simply leave their smartphones in their pockets when they’re out and about. Then not so much can happen.
