School Vacations In Germany

In most Federal States are already school vacations or they start in the next few days. After a long school year, the beginning of the vacation is longed for by all children and as a student, you wonder what you can do during the school vacation. Do you go on vacation with your family or do you stay at home? And if you stay at home, then you can also start great activities there.

The Start Of A Vacation Varies From State To State

School vacations do not start at the same time everywhere in Germany. From state to state, the vacations start at different times and also end at different times. In North Rhine-Westphalia, the vacations started first: Here, there were already school vacations on June 28. On July 13, i.e. last Monday, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt, and Thuringia followed. Since yesterday, Berlin, Brandenburg, Hamburg, Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and Schleswig-Holstein have also started their summer vacations. On July 27, i.e. next Monday, Bremen, Hesse, Lower Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland will join them. On August 3, Baden-Württemberg and Bavaria will be the last two German states to start their vacations.

Vacation – And Now What?

Once the vacations have begun, you wonder what you want to do on vacation. If you travel with your parents, you don’t have to worry about anything, because mom and dad have surely already made a plan before going on vacation by car, train, bus or even by plane. If you do not go on vacation with the family, then you can also do many nice things at home. For example, the outdoor pool is the best place in the summer to meet friends, eat ice cream, and go down the water slide into the pools, which are so nice and cool in the heat of the summer. There is also a vacation ticket for the buses in many states. With this, you can travel across the state, for example to the zoo or an amusement park.
